Hubert Lamy Santenay Blanc 1er Cru Clos des Gravieres 2022This comes from a tiny 0. 38 hectare plot in a historically revered walled area within the Gravires vineyard. Gravires is at the northern end of Santenay, close to the Chassagne border, a sort of continuation of the Clos de Tavannes. Lamys vines in the clos sit on a 30 degree slope and quickly tunnel into pure limestone. This has long been a renowned site, with Dr Jean Lavalles famous Burgundy classification rating the vineyard as a Tte de Cuve in

austerity through the back palate and burly tannins that will take some time to soften

2017 offers up a whole range of floral and spice top notes that give the wine terrific freshness

confirmed again on retasting in bottle subsequently

Envinate’s two single-site Mencias will always be compared to one another

silky tannins seamlessly supports ripe Morello cherry

though the price is a little bit under the other ‘Sacred Site’ wines
