Poplar and Purpleheart/Slate Paddle Scratch Box CallYellow Poplar Box with a striker paddle of White Oak and Slate trimmed in Purpleheart. This paddle has a piece of gray slate inlaid into the paddle. Slate paddle requires less prep work and no chalk needed. These calls have excellent volume and can be worked lightly to tone the volume down. Work the call across the striker paddle in a oblong circle without picking the box up off of the call to obtain a nice breaking yelp. Each call is made slightly
