Colorless calcite with large crystalsLocale: Santa Eulalia, Chihuahua, Mexico Approx dimensions: 3. 5 x 2. 5 x 1" Approx weight: 89g This calcite specimen from Santa Eulalia has large colorless calcite crystals and druzy on a dark iron oxide matrix. The calcite formed a chunky druzy of icy colorless intersecting rhombohedral crystals that almost appear cubic in areas. There are three larger modified rhombohedral crystals perched atop. it is common to see pitting on the surface where inclusions touch the surface and the softer material was pulled away in the polishing process

Sputnik aragonite grows clusters of elongated hexagonal barrel-shaped crystals

when exposed to UV light this area of the quartz glows as if more hyalite is trapped inside the point

with banding distinct in both the UV and daylight fluorescence images
