A Pretty 19thC Japanese Meiji Period Bronze Doban DishOrigin: Japanese Period: Meiji (1868 1912) Provenance: Unknown Date: c. 1890 Height: 3 inches Diameter: 10 inches The bronze circular bodied doban with undulating rim and pierced floral mons, standing on three shaped feet. Possessing a beautiful aged patina, the top lacquer coating of the bronze has some wear in patches but only consummate with age, there are no holes or gauges to speak of. This dish would have been used for a simple flower

surviving from the Edwardian period making it an early survival

original but tired condition with one area of loss to the reverse coat tail
