It is designed for use with the Hornady Lock N Load Overall Length (OAL) Gauge (sold separately) and allows handloaders to measure the precise distance from the cartridge head to the rifling lands inside their own rifle chamber. The modified case is manufactured to SAAMI specifications and has a threaded neck that accepts the LNL OAL Gauge.
