Tap Maple Charcuterie Board 32"x8"This absolutely gorgeous charcuterie board is made from "Tap Maple", which is maple from the bottom trunk of a sugar maple that had been tapped for maple syrup. When the farmer making maple syrup drills a tap hole in a sugar maple tree to get to the sap, air is introduced into the tree wood through the hole and over the years the normally blond maple wood turns brown in long streaks above and below the hole. but it is hard to duplicate online the soft brown and orange colours in the wood

I have done my best to match the colour of the wood in the photographs

The cookie is flattened and all cracks are filled with epoxy

This tree was salvaged from an orchard that was over 50 years old
